La historia nos presenta a Nicholas "Coal" Claus, el príncipe heredero de la Navidad. Coal siente, que cada vez que intenta involucrarse en los deberes de su festividad, lo arruina todo. Además, su padre no deja de recordarle aquel pequeño error que casi destruye la economía de un país.

Ahora que regresa a casa junto a su hermano Kris, descubre que su padre arregló una propuesta matrimonial con Iris, su amiga de la infancia y princesa de las Pascuas. Si bien Coal aprecia a Iris, no desea casarse con ella, pues ha sido el amor secreto de su hermano desde la niñez.  Por lo tanto, no está nada feliz con esta imposición ni con la idea de fingir competir por la mano de su amiga contra Hex, el príncipe heredero de Halloween. Para su sorpresa, Hex resultó ser el misterioso desconocido con quien compartió un apasionado beso años atrás y a quien no logró olvidar.

Coal debe encontrar la  forma de atravesar esta farsa que montó su padre, a la vez que descifra sus sentimientos hacia Hex.

Tenía muchas ganas de leer este libro y debo decir que me gustó más de lo que esperaba. Tras su fachada despreocupada y alegre, Coal esconde un profundo miedo a fallar y decepcionar a todos. Es muy dulce y me encantó el lazo que tiene con su hermano e Iris. Hex también es muy tierno y disfrute mucho como se fue dando la relación entre ellos.

La historia es muy graciosa en ciertas partes y en otras te emociona hasta la médula.

Está llena de romance, spicy, humor, drama, fantasía y por supuesto, la magia de la Navidad. Solo la pude encontrar en inglés, pero si leen este idioma, se las súper recomiendo.
